Andrew Chen, more popularly known by his stage name DJ Shogun, is a big gun in the entire EDM world. This United States-born, Taiwan-based DJ/producer has made a name for himself with a dynamic sound that effortlessly merges progressive trance, tech house, and future rave. A string of chart-topping tracks, electrifying performances, and collaborations with top-tier DJs have been testament to the passion for music and relentless drive to push the envelope within the industry.

Shogun's rise began when he first took an interest in music as a child. Raised in a very traditional Asian family in Ohio, expectations ran high in the field of sports. His love for music in general, and DJing in particular, got him down another path altogether. From successfully experimenting at high school parties, Shogun found inspiration from performances by famous DJs like Tiësto, Paul van Dyk, and Armin van Buuren.

His career finally took to new heights when, in the year 2010, he signed his first album known as Dragon to Armin van Buuren's Armada Music record label. The album received an IDMA nomination for Best Trance Album and sealed his position as one of the main rising stars in the EDM world. His sound was described by its melodic and uplifting feeling combined with energetic beats that stole the hearts of fans all over the world.

One of the major highlights in Shogun's career was signing as the first Asian DJ with Armind, Armin van Buuren's label. His success further saw him collaborate with industry heavyweights, and his tracks were commonplace among top-tier DJs such as Armin van Buuren himself. Such is the deep impact that Shogun has had on the progressive trance genre that he is considered one of its founders in merging melodic elements with powerful beats into a unique infectious sound which resonates with fans globally.

Besides producing, Shogun has also remained close to his fans through Neo Tokyo Radio, the #1 syndicated dance music show in Asia. Having broken records with over 20 million listeners a week across the globe, his syndicated show airs in more than 35 countries, further sealing his influence in the global EDM scene.
