From the harshest realities of the Soviet Union to the brightest lights of American success, Sergiy Korelov's movement is nothing less than extraordinary. Born in Ukraine, as it was then at the time of the USSR, Sergiy grew under dire economical and political straits. All things considered, against him stood seemingly impossible problems, yet within him burned dreams of a better life-the life that would bring him to apply to the Green Card lottery at the end of the 1990s. Long were the chances, but luck was on his side. On his 25th birthday, Sergiy received a letter that would change his life once and for all.

Sergiy, with only $1,500 in his pocket, took off on a journey with his pregnant wife, Olga, and young daughter Eva to the United States, alone there. Far from home, he knew there was no such place, as he went about coping with new dimensions of his life facing Alaska, where the language, money constraints, and cultural differences posed a challenge for Sergiy, but he met them all head-on courageously.

He worked in different professions: woodcarvings, driving a school bus, and taking care of pensioners. His hard work soon paid off. Being such a skillful craftsman, Sergiy did not take much time to gain friends for himself in a new town. First, he started as an apprentice, then learned the business of building, and then even established his own well-known interior design company in San Diego under the name EuroCasa.

The ascension of Sergiy did not take place without dramatic personal development and involvement in the life of his community. Sergiy became a very influential leader in his local church, eventually moving into the position of senior pastor and serving at various times as vice president of a pastors' network. He was further invited to public service as a planning commissioner for the city of Wasilla.

Today, at his 50th birthday, Sergiy Korelov is not only celebrating his victory but is fully committed to giving back. He has directed himself towards empowering others through education and coaching. His vision is 'Kore Coaching business school,' that shares his insights into overcoming barriers in business and personal growth with others. His vision is to inspire and guide other people, regardless of their background, towards being purpose-driven biz leaders in their own realm.

Sergiy's vision goes beyond the boundaries of a single country. He wants to establish an international business network that will serve as a resource and support base for entrepreneurs throughout Canada, in Mexico, and eventually other developing countries. He has the goal of establishing embassy-style centers for business development, which will inspire people all over the world with hope and practical tools for becoming leaders. The purpose of such hubs will be to bring about positive social and economic impact, while fostering personal development.

Probably, at the heart of the story of Sergiy lies a strong message: to be successful is not only to gain more money than at least someone else or even not to be in debt, but also means growing personally, emotionally, and in such ways that their influence on others becomes appreciable. More people, including a handyman or a hairstylist, can easily change their lives once they see the right strategy and right approach.
